Hi third grade parents,
We have officially started our recorder unit. Each day in music, we will be doing a rhythm exercise, followed by recorder practice. I only get to teach your child for 40 minutes per week, so if they really want to become successful at the recorder, I would recommend getting a recorder for practice at home. Decent recorders are about $8 and made by Yamaha. You can buy one from the Dollar Store, but it won't sound very good and it will probably break within the first few uses. Amazon and Instrumental Music are two places I recommend when purchasing a recorder.
The songs we will be playing in class can be found to your right in the bar labeled Recorder Karate Songs. If your child wants to play some fun songs check out the Song Archive.
